  7. Rule Change for Rover Entries in ARRL VHF Contests
  8.  
  9. The Awards Committee has changed the rules for Rover entries
  10. starting with the 1993 ARRL June VHF QSO Party, to be held on June
  11. 12-14. The new definition for the Rover category is below.

  13. Rover: One or two operators of a single station that moves among two
  14. or more grid squares during the course of the contest, and making
  15. contest contacts, using the same equipment and antennas at each
  16. site, will be considered a rover. Rovers sign ''rover'' on phone and
  17. /R on CW after their call sign. The intent of the Rover category
  18. prohibits fixed station scores to be included with Rover operations;
  19. stations may however, enter the Rover category with a separate log
  20. for Rover activities. All Rovers are encouraged to adopt operating
  21. practices that allow as many stations as possible to contact them.

  23. This new change will be in effect in all ARRL VHF contests that
  24. include a Rover category.
